Very interesting! I've never been there, but I've been at Bucklers Hard, on the Beaulieu River (pronounced Bewly), Hampshire, where Nelson's ships were built...

I came back because the first time I was here, some of the pictures didn't want to come through.  Now they are here and I can see them.  Speaking of coconut pie, my favorite is Coconut Cream pie with meringue or whipped cream on top garnished with a bit of roasted coconut, but my mother used to make a pie that was to die for.  It was a double crust pie and the filling was a combination of crushed pineapple, chopped fresh pears and flaked coconut.  I do have recipes for both kinds somewhere, but it has been years since I have made them.
