skye08, i only rarely reply to comments but, i wanted to thank you for giving the correct Aramaic translation of the word 'hate'...i knew (without doing the appropriate academic inquiry) that the what was meant by the word 'hate' here is not what is generally meant in today's vernacular...i hesitated (ever so slightly) to include the quote from Jesus for that reason but, i have used it freely in other contexts, including previous now non-existent blogs, to illustrate the point of non-attachment...i hope to post a few more quotes, including more from Jesus, to further illustrate the point...in any event....thank you very much...blessings, moon

Excellent post
The Aramaic translation which is the language of Moses, Abraham, and Jesus does not use the word hate. The words used are"put aside." I think this is a more positive thought than hate. Thank you for sharing.
