Sorry about your suffering at the hands of insurance and entitlements
This underscores why we need
municipal medical departments, pronto!
Unlike the entitlement system's clinics, which treats all of its recipients as derelicts, the clinics and hospitals of a medical department would treat you like the mayor and members of the council. The MMDs would do this for the simple reason that this would be how the mayor and members of the council would receive
their medical care.
And unlike insurance, there would be no charge for each case or incident. Instead, the doctors and nurses would be on staff at the MMDs and paid a salary to provide a public service. To paraphrase a famous movie line: "We don't need no stinking insurance!" All we need is medical care, provided locally by a department that is accountable through local elections -- just like the fire and police departments are.
