                I'm not versed on the geography in that area, but 40 miles seems like a long hike to the mission, too many chances to be intercepted. Ten miles out would be a big plenty, and could also be summer grazing if it's mountainous country. This kind of unit would have no problem hiking 10 miles carrying a pack.  What's the plan for getting out after the job's done and the Nazi's are on the lookout?

                Ian, have you checked the geographical information about Rostock area? As far as I can see from the map and from what I can remember from my visits to that part of the world, it's actually fairly lowlying. Here's a good link for information about Rostock.
