I've never considered writing a novel before, isiS_Eyes; it sounds like too much hassle.  The way I've been looking at the NaNoWriMo task is that normally I would just bumble my way through a month and never notice it disappearing.  This way I'll be praying for the month to end - before I do.

Whacky
Wow!  is how I felt about it, Whacky, but I'm striving to look at it from Azur's point of view 'Enjoy It.'

Wow!
Good luck!

and who wouldn't be?  You have a gargantuan task ahead of you.  You're so far ahead of the game though!  I've started and half-finished so many novels now that I'd probably be ridiculed for actually finishing one.

I can hear it now:  You're not actually going to query an agent now are you? (snicker snicker snicker)

majroj
An excellent back up plan majroj.  I'll work it with that detour in mind.

What I've been doing since I signed up is walk around in circles biting my lip and whimpering.  I think it will probably be coffee mneme; that way I'll have plenty of washroom breaks.  Seriously, I do perk & pour a lot of coffee, but it has a habit of turning too cold for me.

Thank you for your support, mneme; I have this strange feeling that I will need all the support I can get.

If it doesn't work, you can sell it to National Geographic!
Or "The Tattler".

Wow, a lot braver - I've just had a look at the site.  Are you stockpiling your snacks and treats ready for the off? I favour a nice big bag of those chocolate drops with crunchy hundreds and thousands on them.  Or jelly beans. Or M&Ms ... just thought I'd give you some encouragement :)

You're braver than I am, johnmacnab - and I'm 'write' behind you (that was the deliberate spelling mistake, wasn't it?....)

Pat_B
Mindless televiewing infuriates me, Pat, especially when the 'New Season' begins with repeats of last year, and Ell refuses to believe me when I point this out.  I think I may give in quite soon - er - maybe.

Azur
You know what, Azur?   I may just do that.

We'll see about that on November the 3rd, Taps.

There is a NaNoWriMo virus... but it doesn't affect your computer...

It insiduously sets itself into your conscious mind, right near the border of the unconscious, where it can niggle and hint and pop up like an annoying ad with sudden bits of ideas and tantalizing tidbits of plot just when you're about to relax into mindless televiewing. You can't just enjoy taking apart the credibility of commercials as you watch the new season begin on your old favorite shows. Suddenly you're in that zone where your novel is hibernating, and you feel an irresistable urge to make notes, to add a line or two to your outline.

You might as well give in. There won't be a moment's peace until you do.

You've got more intestinal fortitude than have I.
