So far, so believable...
Y'know, I don't believe I've mentioned it on Blogit, but my dad was an ammunitions specialist in the Navy -- at the end of WWII, he was assigned to Germany to disable and understand the technology of Nazi buzz bombs. These were spinning anti-personnel weapons designed to detonate before they hit the ground and spray deadly shrapnel into a troop of soldiers. You could probably get tech data on buzz bombs on Google if you need a nasty weapon for your story.
