I don't believe there is an "agreed upon" definition of "enough." I believe it must be defined by the individual and is whatever is sufficient to meet his needs. Thank you for your comment and your visit. Peace, blessings and understanding.~SS

I would certainly agree with sam..we have desire (i.e. to succeed), but yet
we can walk past the homeless (not the connivers trying to can a buck from us for more cigs or hootch), I mean the obviosly homeless, or close to it, who would welcome a loaf of bread or bag of milk...these being their hearts desire.....

I so agree; we have great desire but equally complacent about fulfilling that desire! Great food for thought poem! sam

As simply stated as your poem is, it kept me reading till the last syllable!  Very deep and the final stanza gave a spectacular chill down my spine!!! Bravo!

This is an excellent follow up to the Grey Poem! Again thoughtful and thought provoking!

WHAT IS ENOUGH?
To me herein lies the complexity of being "human".  No one can essentially agree upon the true definition of "enough".  Ergo wars, war-like religions and other futile acts of those seeking "enough" have been waged by and upon each of us -- admit it or not.  Some, lacking no other description, have named it the "human condition".  So be it.  Joab
