Rough and first draft, that is spectacular. I am back at my clay, not
writing, playing like I never wanted to, so as not to hurt about not doing it. Congratulations on the big push to finish....

I never thought I stopped writng the novel. It was like having sex. You still think you're doing it even though you haven't done it in a while.

TAPS.
I hope so, but I'm not counting on it. Things never go quickly and easily while you're in the middle. Only looking back at the end do we realize maybe it was.

This is by far the worst part of the process. I'm dreading the idea of starting it even though I'm excited about it.

Re: I read somewhere it's like climbing a pyramid. Many people talk of it
I guess he did do a good thing, but it certainly didn't feel like it at the time. I do a lot of editing as I go along, so my rough drafts aren't as rough as they could be. Still I'm anxious to start something new. I have the idea for the sequel, a discarded concept from the original manuscript. At times I have to smack myself to keep from starting it.

My fiction is nothing like what I post here. It's morally ambiguous and incredibly violent, definitely not mainstream. If and when the day comes my novel sees the light of day, I'll surely let you know.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's good to be back.

I wouldn't call it huge, but I'm proud of it. I must admit I'll be a little prouder if I see it in a bookstore.

Talion! Welcome back! I've missed you!
Here's a big air kiss for that friend who got you back to work on the novel... Congrats on finishing it. Like Kabu said, I'll buy a copy, autographed of course, and then watch for the movie to come out.  Hope you and Queen V have had a wonderful summer so far...

You do have the pat on the back. That’s a start to edit, rewrite, and proofread. You know about spell check? BC-A, Bill’s RJJst

I read somewhere it's like climbing a pyramid. Many people talk of it
but never start, some start but never finish, some finish but lose heart. You just have to climb, and at each level there are fewer people.

Funny I wrote a post about why I wasn't here. It has some resonance to yours.   I am so far into redraft mode, I can't wait to go to rough draft stage again.

Now didn't your friend do a good thing for you? I have friends who spur me on either deliberately or inadvertently

Good for you! I like your writing, so will certainly buy it when you have it published. You deserve the pat on your back, Sir!

Congratulations...that really is a big task, Talion! May you get it
published in due time!  (Welcome back, too!)

It is huge what you have done. Published or not or self published or not

you have written a novel and yes you will edit it and edit it and get that agent.

Well done I love it and I will buy a copy  of course and you rock.

Now I will crawl back into my shell and read through as much of my Tom Ugly novel as I have written. Og dear....but my excuse is I married Wiley now that has kept me too busy to write ...of course.
