Just listening is a very good way to make the difference.
I took a look at your blog entries, and I decided to leave a comment. I can only say that i agree in your thoughts about listening and generally making a difference.

So very true
I have worked with a woman for years. She babbles. She obsesses. I have always taken the time to listen. We were just co-workers.
Over the last year, I have gone through a divorce (nothing I would wish on anyone). I have lost people I thought were friends, lost my perception of family, suffered ridicule in a small, rural (smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt) community where my ex has a lot of power.
This co-worker, has been a source of strength, endurance and encouragement during it all. We were just co-workers... but now she is in my circle.
I am sure me listening to her made a difference in her life... but it also made a difference in mine.
