Yes indeed welcome to Blogit! I enjoyed reading this valuable post and agree with your approach to the world.
Although I count myself lucky having English as my mother tongue I know from living abroad for more than half my life  that it is not the easiest language for other people to learn. In the last 4½ years I have found that Esperanto has been an extremely useful 'second string'. Perhaps you might be interested in the following site:
