I do find it very, very strange that a president of the United States would refer to the miraj, Muhammad's 'night journey' to Heaven, where he met Abraham, Moses, Jesus and finally Allah (God) himself, as though it were a real, historical event...
And as for the 'being joined in prayer', the historical reality is rather different, beginning with the slaughter of the males of one of the Jewish tribes of Medina (the Banu Qurayza) in 627, in which apparently Muhammad himself took part...
