The wild thing about the words of Jesus is:
They can mean anything.
Subjective, of course, all dependant on when/why/how we came to where we are. It's all relative - and relative, like it or not.

Re: Re: Xeno
not an act -- he sincerely was their servant
he set an example
the lesson is to consider your brother, even anyone you meet, as better than yourself, in a manner that uplifts them
not an inferiority complex, mind you, but an elevation of the other "Love thy neighbor as thyself."
we are the most important person in our lives; others should be also.

That is a question to ponder .. As humans it seems impossible to love all other humans but I think God would want us to strive towards that goal while keeping in mind that those who are hardest to love are usually the one's who need to be loved the most. I did not love my father but yet I cared for him several years while he was dying. I loved my grandmother ( fathers mother) so while taking care of him I felt I was showing Grandma love when caring for her little boy.

OTA, His love was unconditional and that is hard for us....
sometimes-- so perhaps He wants to take a long, hard look at the way we treat others. I can only imagine. You've got me thinking. Have a blessed day!

I have a feeling he meant for us to think about what he said.

debasing himself before them
making them greater than he was

Re: Moon
Jesus said that whatever we do to others we do to him. I can't imagine treating Him with.."
judging, condemning, criticizing, imagining oneself superior, self-righteousness, holier than thou.. " if I could only remember to see Him in each face that I meet.

...some of the things that i think that he did NOT mean...judging, condemning, criticizing, imagining oneself superior, self-righteousness, holier than thou...maybe he meant thinking of the other's welfare rather than one's own, sacrifice, compassion, forgiveness, acceptance, surrender, treating the other as one would want to be treated (in all circumstances), never (under any circumstance) injuring another through thought, word or deed, unconditional love...but, hey! i'm the first to admit - i don't know anything - and i certainly cannot speak as an authority on christianity...blessings, moon
