So here is the latest from Washington Post

Monday morning....May 4, 2009

"....top health officials here and abroad projected yesterday a cautious optimism that the new virus is not as lethal as initially feared....."

And so it goes. (Slaughter House 5 - Kurt Vonnegut)

Flu and terrorism
I thought from the beginning of this flu outbreak, "What if this is just a threat, and the government is having to negotiate with terrorists to prevent whatever outbreak they really have up their sleeve?"

Re: Re: Jack

I laughed at this! - So THAT is where all those flying TVs come from!

Thank you also Marisposa for your heart-warming comments on my story poems. They are much appreciated!

I have to agree with you...

I really agree with you although I am not as well informed.

I cannot imagine why (apart from some vague ideas about conspiracies and making money) why this 'swine 'flu' is being so toted.

Pandemic? Pish-posh.

Jonathan   aka 'Raphael' (And thank you very much for your heart-warming comments on my story poem. You are a soul-builder indeed.)

PS. I was in Florida in 2001 when suddenly the papers became full of panic stories about sharks biting people. They  grew and grew. Global warming - pollution - whatever - Florida's lazy friendly sharks were suddenly multiplying like rabbits and biting everybody viciously.

For about 10 days the stories built up.....then came 9/11.

The stories stopped, the panic subsided and since then I haven't read more than one or tow shark bite stories for the last seven years.

It is frightening...the power of the media, let loose on (for the most part) semi-educated minds. Who was it again that said ä little knowledge was a dangerous thing? Too right.

Mind blowing information...

I fear the source far more than the Flu itself. My daughter called me from Nashville TN last night and told me of the death of a 22 year old in a neighboring town of Frankin TN. I've not seen it on the news and therefore can't confirm the news my daughter reported. Thank you again for the good info. and your efforts.

Swine flu has caused quite a bit of panic over here as well Soulbuilder.

My daughter in Cuba says that any students with flu like symtoms are quarantined. I think

as you say it is a man made strain..how awful.

Soul builder
I watched all the Youtube.  Very informative and I think it is a man-made virus.  Is the oxxy silver the same as colodial silver?

Re: Jack
Amazing!  One time we threw our TV off the bridge.  We have one now, but only for movies.

The lunchtime news today said that there were far fewer new cases  in Mexico today,  ut the evening news omitted that in order to concentrate on telling us that the first 'secondarily' infected case had occurred in the UK! What a load of squit about nothing!

It pays to think before panic sets in . Thanks for keeping eyes open and stating the calm truth rather tha terrorizing all with fear!

Loved this post 101...  and the fact that you are calming people as opposed to the insane alarmist take of the media... Thank you for taking the time to research and bring back to us the facts.

It's also causing more work for some of us who work in certain fields.
Today I have to write a press release, web content and talking points related to this issue and that the industry I work in is "safe" in the sense that they can't catch swine flu from the commodity I work with.  Good info!

and...

What's with the new media ''Pandemic'' buzzword?  Doesn't that bunch of idiots ever get tired of making up newer and stupider words?

I am going to start burning my newspapers in the front yard without opening them.  I have already shot out the TV screen.  When it blew, the guts came flying out the front and it caught on fire.  It was a glorious ending to the six o'clock news.

I just don't know...

When I first saw H1N1 I missed the fact that the 1's were not I's.  I was going around saying stuff like, ''why are they calling it the Heiny virus?  The Germans had nothing to do with this.''  When a friend told me about my mistake I decided I would do well to get down to the local Optometrist.  Not that it will do much good.  I haven't had a decent lens prescription in well over ten years, but maybe I will run into someone who knows what they are doing again.  Unless the Flying Pig Brothers get to them first.
