I'm having more fun.

Re: Re: Re: and you didn't admit your mistake in
You cannot be that dumb.......this is what I was referring to.......

stating that "IHS"  is the name of Christ.  It is not.  It means, "in His Service", meaning,, of course, that the church is in the service of Christ.

No one was talking about which version of the Bible.........

As to your obvious knowledge of the Bible...good for you,  I am sure you are motivated by that "Know Your Enemy" thingy.......

you having that knowledge however, is akin to a Pedophile have an extensive knowledge of children's clothing styles

I hate to say this, but I'm having fun here.
for it seems I know more about the Bible and religion than you do.

ROTFLMAO.....That's never stopped you from continuously frequenting peoples blogs.  Getting it right is something you might want to work on.......BTW....Your answer is one of the least recognized versions.

Here's the deal.......... if you're going to serial comment.....at least do it every 24 hours,  that way I'll at least get something out of it........

again, if you state something, you should get it right.

What's going over anyone's head is
Pres Obama is using similar allegory as Jesus, only saying that we must rebuild our country's financial situatoin on a firm foundation, referring to Jesus statement in Matthew 7:24.

Because you have a biased preconception of our president, you reach false conclusions and the substance of Mr. Obama's statement is going over your head completely.

When you quote the bible, it is good
that you know what you are talking about.

As you can see, the house buiot on a rock has nothing to do with Christ, but with Jesus' sayings.

I am a bit perplexed as to what you perceive as my problem.

I was just pointing out the fallacy of your statement that the house on the rock refers to Christ.  Now you have the exact quote and you see that you were completely wrong about that.

do you admit your mistakes?

I see you didn't read the Bible passage -- so here it is.
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Re: Re: analogy and allegory
i hope you are serious

just read the passage -- you will find it in plain words (about the end of the Sermon on the Mount -- I think Matthew 7)

Re: analogy and allegory
Wow.....I never knew that was what that was about....thank you so much for explaining it.....

analogy and allegory
the house on sand and the house on rock

odd that you don't see it.

and odd how you interpret it.

and -- the house -- look again -- it's not Christ aht Jesus is talking about.  He plainly says that whoever listens to HIS WORDS and puts them into practice is like a man who built his house on a rock -- the words and practice thereof are a solid foundation for a person's life; where whoevr does not listen and practice is like a man who bulds his house on sand.

when storms (tests and trials, etc.) come, the house on the foundation of the sayings stands; while the house not built on those sayings falls (and great is the fall of it).

Re: Re: Re:
Hmmmmm????

He is not allowed to quote Christ's name any more than he would be able to quote Allah, Mohammed, Lao-Tzu, Buddha or any other religious deity.

Could you show me what part of the oath or the Constitution that states that wild premise???

Re: Re:
Our President' take an oath before God not to disobey the Constitution. He is not allowed to quote Christ's name any more than he would be able to quote Allah, Mohammed, Lao-Tzu, Buddha or any other religious deity. The so-called more "Christian" leaders we've had for the past 8 years, and the other terms before Clinton, all ended with the same result. Exhausting our resources, depleting our money, weakening our military, in other words, leaving us with sand to work with. They have all, every single one, including Obama claimed to be Christian men, he makes the claim LESS SO than the other leaders. If you want to condemn them all, go ahead, but don't single out our current leader simply because you disagree or dislike him. Find something unique to pick on him for, not something that they all do. Besides, the idea that he purports to be our saviour is ludicrous and unfounded, it is simply more rhetoric.

Re: Re: Re: i gather it was a public speech
Really......so he was practicing that supposed "seperation" by selecting a Church run university to give said policy speech?  This man spits on the constitution, is working everyday to erode away our constitutional protections.......

I appreciate your offered opinions....but I certainly disagree with your perspective on this, so perhaps we must agree to disagree...

Re:
The real tragedy here is not that he had the temerity to ask that a symbol representing Jesus be hidden, it is the “why” behind it. Obama casts himself in the role of Jesus. For the evidence supporting this we need look no further than Obama’s own words. In the parable he quotes during his speech, the “rock” upon which we are to build is Jesus Christ. He makes no mention whatsoever of Christ when applying this principle; instead he contends that he himself and by extension the federal government is the “savior” we are to look to in solving our current and future problems – rather than a faith in Christ as our foundation- our savior, Obama purports to be that savior himself! The arrogance of this man knows no limits! I pray the American people will wake up before it is too late. God will not be mocked!

Re: Re: i gather it was a public speech
Intrusive to our Constitution. The document that at some point and time used to dictate how we do things in our government. A speech on policy being an example; it is necessary to separate Church and State, one of the founding principles of our entire democracy. It may seem hard to believe, but we actually have a President that would prefer to abide by the Constitution... amazing?

In the article you chose to quote bits and pieces of did you happen to notice the end?

"Obama did not mention the name of Jesus during his address. However, he did mention Christ’s Sermon on the Mount.

“There is a parable at the end of the Sermon on the Mount that tells a story of two men…‘the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house…it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock,’” Obama said.

“We cannot rebuild this economy on the same pile of sand,” he added. “We must build our house upon a rock.”

Or did you happen to notice this part about why the White House covers up symbols wherever it goes?

“The White House wanted a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape for the speech, consistent with what they’ve done for other policy speeches,” she added. “Frankly, the pipe and drape wasn’t high enough by itself to fully cover the IHS and cross above the GU seal and it seemed most respectful to have them covered so as not to be seen out of context.”

Hmmm... sounds pretty evil, they did it because it seemed most respectful. What monsters~

I certainly have no problem with Mr. O donning a yarmulke, or even taking off his shoes in a mosque, but man, demanding that Christian symbols be covered? What's the matter with this guy? And you're right: why pick that venue in the first place, if he doesn't really respect it?
