HELL!!!!
Check my blog by that name.

The Hell of the New Testament is nowhere in the Old.

In Matthew, where KJV mentioned "hell-fire" where the "worm dieth not , etc.", the word there is Gehenna, referring to the City dump in the Valley of Hinnom.  Maggots (worms) did not die, but became flies.  Fires were not quenched -- just kept burning.

When the Apostle Paul mentions a fire, it is a purging thing -- (I paraphrase) "a man's works shall be tested in the fire whether they be chaff, or stone, but the man himself shall survive".

The Hell-fire of Matthew -- that's the same as Paul's.  It is also an indication of reincarnation, I believe, since I read that as a person being reincarnated, living a life "on the trash heap", or in "dereliction" -- a miserable life that has the purpose of purging.

In fact, Bible commentaries agree that wherever such a fire is mentioned (exclusively in the New Testament), including Revelation's "lake of fire", it is of a purging nature.

The popular Hell is a mediveal construct, with Dante as one of the main architects.

Seven Days of Creation

Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

plus of course the sun and the moon.

Gen 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Days and years and seasons were not until the fourth day.  The previous days could have been of any length -- hundreds of millions of years

Texasgem
I am not the one here who is openly saying I will not look at anything that does not already agree with my views an that only one source of information is correct.  I am far more open minded that the lot of Christian I deal with here on Blogit.  And I do not think all thing Christian are wrong.

This exchange all started because wings here was passing along propaganda as if it were fact.  I tired to correct her and she said she knew she was right because... well she never actually provided anything that says she was wright, just that she was.  I however tried to get her to go and look at the evidence that said it was propaganda.

I said nothing against Christianity and I was not attacking her faith itself, just pointing out that an idea she was spreading about Pagans was false.

Re: Re: To TexasGem on your most recent comment on my blog..
I was not chiding you for standing up to coo-coos who oppose Christ. I have had the same run ins with many different coo-coos and they are always right and Christians are wrong. They twist what you say and when they are challenged for saying things like Christians are stupid, they swear up and down that they didn't say that. I am glad that you have enough of Jesus in your life to take a stand. For me, I am going to stand, but I am going to try to reach people who are reachable and if those who have been impossible decide to come along then I will rejoice. I am not telling you to back down. These people are twisted and going back and forth with them is what they want so they can keep you from reaching out to others. OWOL, the devil is not particular who he works through and his plan is to undermine and twist Christians into a pretzel. Continue to STAND and if you feel that you must do battle with these who are contrary to the gospel, praise God! I know and God knows that you are not afraid to stand and you will not run. You are letting your light shine and I see you as the "REAL DEAL."  Blessings!!

Re: To Soul Builder...
I realize that, and I'm not trying to make anyone believe anything. I'm simply stading up for my Lord as He stood up for me. If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything. Please refer to my return comment to Texas Gem.

Re: To TexasGem on your most recent comment on my blog..
I do know that "Do not cast your pearls before the swine" scripture well. I think about it often. So I know what you're trying to say. But however, I think about it like this: "Look what the Lord did for me". He stood for me, and I will infact stand for Him as well. He went through a horrible agonizing death for me. The least I can do is stand up and defend the cause of His death for me. Jesus grew up, stood up, then He hung up on across for me, all the while being persecuted and mocked. The Bible says we'll be persecuted if we stand up for Him, for He Himself, being the son of God, was persecuted Himself. So, thats ok, I don't mind. Christ stood, and so will I. And God works in mysterious ways. For we all once had our minds made up too, until we were saved by the grace of God, and I'm so glad God didn't give up on me. Perhaps one day, and maybe not today, but perhaps one day, at some place, and at some time, perhaps these atheist I go back and forth with, will remember something I've said, and take it to heart. Not because I'm anything special because I am nothing at all, but it's the work of God in me. You never know.

Re: Don't cast your pearls before swine.
Treu, some people do have their minds made up but I am here to say "Go onwingsoflove girl!" I support your message 110%! No where in the Bible does it say we must not stand up for our beliefs. I stand up for my religious and politcal beliefs and always will. This blogger has my support, I love it! She's got backbone in a time where that is hard to find. That's the spirit, girl!

Don't cast your pearls before swine.
Some people have their minds made up and it is set like concrete. The best thing in my opinion is to ignore their comments because they are right and anything that even resembles Christianity is wrong. The more you jaw with them the better they like it. Spend your time encouraging those who will receive it. As the scripture says, don't cast your pearls before swine.  Have a blessed week!
