The truth is that retarded becomes "the r-word" only after you've had a kid with the label.
Most people aren't trying to be hurtful when they say these things, they just don't understand it. I believe that the President can turn this into something positive if he wants to. I wrote a letter to him and emailed it. I published it here on Blogit as my first blog.
He might read it. It could happen...
