I had a similar experience about 6 years ago in a taxi in NYC. Our driver was Haitian. His name was Willie St. Juste. You couldn't have found a happier man. My co-worker and I were taken on a delightful tour of the city with our driver and I also wrote about our drive with him. He had been in NYC for 17 years, had 4 kids and 6 grandkids. He spoke several languages. I just came across the page I wrote a few days ago and it was with a fondness that I remembered him.
