It is a difficult time for Mothers as the children leave home. The nest is still there and I think they think you stay exactly how you were when they left so he will know you are always availabble to be his best friend. I too wish him well and you also . Prayers for you both!A new beginning.

Mariaki
Mine flew the coop at 19 and strangely enough (although I feared what challenges she might have to endure) I felt a sense of relief.  In my case, however, she was leaving behind an extremely destructive lifestyle and group of friends.  So, given what you’ve written, it was an entirely different set of circumstances.  It’s a defining moment for a mother when her child/children reach a decision to move away and try a different or new life.  But there continues to be lessons to teach, advice to provide, or solace to offer.   Our role doesn’t end – it simply takes on a new shape.  I’ve no doubt you have taught him well and he will make wise choices.  And should he fall or stumble you will still be there to “kiss it better”.  You and he will be in my prayers and I hope you’ll share his progress with us as his journey unfolds.

That must be difficult for you, my friend
If practical advice or information about living here is ever needed, please do feel free to ask and I will help where I can

I can empathize with you, and my prayers are for you, and your son---may the Lord hold him in the hollow of His hand. As our sons fly off, all we can do is entrust them to Him, and trust that all will be well. God bless. Nita.

We add our prayers for Damien's peace & success. Each can pray for one more
person - amn or woman - to succeed on this Earth. Because too many humans fall by th wayside, especially recent immigrants across the globe. Trust God's eagle wings to cover Damien in prtection and warmth. In the Name of the HOLY TRINITY, we pray... Amen.

Beautiful poem Mariaki! I know the feeling of letting go! I will have him in my prayers faithfully! At least he didn't jump on a boat and head to the Bering Sea to be a fisherman! lol They will startle their mothers! Peace (a real peace at this time), love and my blessings! Shelly
