Very relevant. Few have the guts to admit mistakes. I know you have it in ample measure. You know what I mean. Respect you for your guts.

It is a shame when we lose sight of what the right thing to do is.

You assume correctly, I did not have a rap sheet. Fortunately I did not have to have an attorney. I was at the police station constantly, where I made them listen to my side.

At first the attitude was "we don't care what your side is, we will present the evidence to the D.A. and if he thinks there is a case, we will arrest you"

My goodness, thank heavens you chose to fight! I don't get the idea that someone should stay in jail when evidence proves to the contrary! I admit my errors and taken ownership so they can be put to rest! sam

integrity in itself has degrees, like there are things we would do/not do if someone was looking... white lies on the pretext of not hurting the other... little incidents daily that are not truthfully done if there is no fear of being caught!

How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four; calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg.   ~ Abraham Lincoln

What set your situation apart from many who might not have had a better outcome is (I'm assuming) you don't have a criminal record and you had the money to hire an attorney. If you had a rap sheet with a couple serious offenses and a public defender, you may have gone to prison despite your innocence.

Two words: Mike Nyfong.
What that guy did is reason enough to admit you're wrong, on so many levels.

It all comes down to the point of hopefully never getting yourself into a situation where you have to go before a trial of your peers or anyone else for that matter. It may be democratic but it is also not infallible. Good post!
