Re:
The problem is that the so called public funding was shoved down their throats. Nobody will suffer from not going on one of these trips. It was just a really nice reward for hard work. The year that had won me the trip, I had never missed one day of work. I came in early and stayed late. I changed my shift if they needed me to. I had work three huge projects that year.  Going on the trip made that whole year worth it and made me want to do it all over again. It's just sad that Wells doesn't have the back bone to stand up for themselves.

I sympathize with your sentiments here.  Wells-Fargo should be allowed to run its own company as it sees fit.  On the other hand, I can't help but think, well, welcome to public funding.  Teachers at all levels at institutions run by states and local governments are always under the microscope, and denied rewards and privileges that would be routine in private business, but cannot be tolerated by an angry public watching the wrong pennies being spent.  That's what's happening here; the angry mob is shouting down something good through ignorance and selfishness.  Public employees all across the country feel the pain (and may be smirking a little at seeing someone else suffer for a change).
