I completely agree with you about the skinny jeans, I practically live in mine. I had a fabulous pair of Diesal skinny jeans I found at this one boutique, and can't find that cut anywhere. I would wear them with dressy tops, or cute sweaters. I went on vacation, and had them sent to the laundromat. Unfortunately, they weren't returned. It's interesting, because a lot of people are reluctant to even try and wear this trend. Many people are worried their legs aren't thin enough, the jeans will accentuate their hips, or even worse, showcase their thighs. While curves are in, as saw with Jessica Simpson they need to be shown off properly not in way where you end up looking fat.

I have to agree, the outfit did her in!  To me, it really doesn't look like she actually gained that much weight, but her high jeans with monstrous pockets  make her look  wide as hell and the gaudy belt  makes it look like she's covering up a gut.

back to curves
jessica simpson's weight gain is quite unfortunate, but somehow it happened.  The jeans look okay on her, rather tight without bulging.  But she should have nixed the black tank and opt for a more flattering top that emphasizes her bust area.  Perhaps charcoal or soft grey. Oh well.

Skinny jeans are great, I agree!  Old Navy's sweaters with a huge collar looks fabulous in great different colors.  They are tight sweaters yet somehow look oversized and always in style.

I lamented on the styles of pants for women at work at major department stores and was about to give up wearing work pants (so fuddy duddy) until I logged onto Victoria's Secret and checked out their pants.  Gorgeous design and colors.  Now I know where to shop for great styles.  Victoria's Secret is not all panties and bras.  Their clothes merit attention, especially for those of us with curves.
