Beautiful exchange between parent and child and the hope and potential you are trying to encourage. Yes, I agree the title seems a little off -- not the morning part, but the 'drop-off' because it also implies NO HOPE or a sense of failing, when really this poem is about hope and future. I don't have a title for you, but I would try a word or phrase that describes your TRAVEL to school as well as the TRAVEL into the future, into possibilities. Hope this helps!

Terrific piece, I'm not a mother but I see this exchange between parents and children all the time.  The way you wrote it really gives it life and magic.  I'm thinking maybe "First Defense", "Your Defense" , or "In your eyes".
