I agree... a poem can take me back to an environment AND a feeling, but right, the feeling is not completely as permeating as it first was! Very well stated!

Do you ever read your work after a few months and ask yourself, what was I really feeling at the time? I do not believe it is possible to re-live the exact same sensation as that experienced during the creation of the original work. I remember where it came from and where I wanted it to go but the birth cannot be experienced twice. It is as if the work takes on a life of its own with every passing day..it's your child but it has its own character...I like to think of it that way, somehow..
