I detest PC. But it is a spiritual and moral blight only on Western societies, and within that general category, some countries are more affected than others! What is interesting to me is why it has arisen there, and at this time in history?
Looking for an explanation in people's stupidity does not give us the answer - they have always been stupid...

I agree with you. It is the height of absurdity for someone to call women 'dicks' because that is somehow less offensive than calling them 'cunts'. Unless he meant to imply that they were excessively masculine . . .
I hate the whole PC movement. It's a sad commentary on humanity that people are stupid enough and ignorant enough that only a powerful (and artificial) taboo can get them to pay attention to what comes out of their mouths, and that there are people who think they have the right to create such a taboo, complete with legal backing. (I work at a college. We have rules about what not to say.)

Words are at times tangled messes! I love what you had to say! I had not thought about the term 'white trash' as being an expectation of more from whites! I shall ponder it though, it has always meant unkempt people and their places. I thought you made some very good points too! sam
