Re: Heroes is a show you have to have seen from the beginning.............
I have, finally, caught up (by which I mean watched the first episodes), and it is well done.  But it pits ordinary people with extraordinary powers against each other.  Not the classic battle of good versus evil.  That's why I question the title, but I get the impression the creators are aware of the conflicts.

Re: mousehop
True, the vigilante nature of superheroes does create ethical issues.  But in the series, 'Heroes', even the ends are questionable for many of the characters.  But I still enjoy the show.

Heroes is a show you have to have seen from the beginning.............
It is a fabulous sci-fi/fantasy series....but you can't miss an episode, or you're out of sync.  It is full of heroic people......it's just that sometimes you can't tell who's who.

I gather it's been a while since you've picked up a comic book. Comic book heroes have always reflected the times. Compare the Batman of the 60's TV shows with the Batman of last summer's blockbuster movie. In the comics, Batman is even worse, a full fledged pshchopath capable of anything short of murder. Questionable morality has been a theme for years only now brought to the forefront be the plethora of movies and TV shows. Once you accept the idea of these costumed "heroes," you're already on a slippery slope. Afterall, these individuals are not officers of the law in any fashion. They're vigilantes unrestained by the rules of law. This dates back to the origins of the genre with such "tame" characters as the Lone Ranger, Zorro, and the Shadow. The epitome of questionable morality is the notion that the end justifies the means.
