RedStatesMan - I agree

All we have to work with in determining who we are dealing with behind the shields of anonymity afforded by the internet are a person's words, opinions and behavior. With the latter being the most telling. Especially in instances where an individual is claiming to be a proponent of certain ideals, philosophies or beliefs but is not representing those claims in their actions. Attempting to construct character assessments of people we meet online from words they have posted will inevitably lead to false assumptions.

On the other hand, reading through the misrepresentations that some people routinely make about themselves is part of the fun of this type of entertainment.

Re: sam444 - you know how I hate those sentences that begin with the word "if"
Yea, I always get a kick out of the assumptions. I just love how people assume everything in life. Here in this box, in which we type, there is absolutely no possible way to assume anything just like it is in real life. I can picture a junk dealer in canada but does validate my assumptions? I can assume the junk dealer is not a squirrel. But that is about it. The thing that everyone should always remember that in the world of the internet you have no idea of who you are talking to at all. With names like RedStatesMan, Gomedome, Cantey or Sam it is 100% foolish to assume anything. We would be wise not to assume anything in life, especially on the internet, eh?

But I must agree, developing a certain level of tolerance forour fellow human beings is the only way our species will survive.

mordent - I agree, there is no society on this earth that does not have a

at least some people we could refer to as hillbillies.

I also feel that when you say: ". . . there isn't an ideology/religion/belief system that I can believe in." This describes a great number of people. From those disenchanted with organized religion to those who are unable to reconcile traditional religious, ideological or philosophical constructs. To a great extent I feel that I am in the same boat. Forced because of an inability to simply accept what has been passed down to us, to utilize an amalgamate of workable philosophies.

I'm familiar with the question of Hitler's beliefs and must admit that I'm playing a bit of a game with those who have attempted to claim that he was an atheist and perpetrated his heinous crimes because of this. My assertions are however, at least based on some historical fact. In reality we do not know to what extent he believed in God in his adult life. We do know of his catholic upbringing and have a few historical references to his self image as a person destined to play a role in biblical prophecy pertaining to the Jews. We can also look at the fact that established Christian churches fared well by remaining intact during his tenure as dictator, prior to and during the war. This is a bit unusual in that it is not in keeping with how religious institutions have been historically viewed and treated by those corrupted by power. I know full well to say that he was a Christian is a bit of a stretch but it is a lot closer to the truth than to say that he was an atheist.

It would seem to me if we were more tolerant of each other across the board this world would be more comfortable to live in. sam

Your portrayal of hillbilies is accurate. However to me, hillbilies are just a microcosom of most humans.

You see there isn't an ideology/religion/belief system that I can believe in. I simply take that which I percieve as the raw truth. It doesn't matter whether it's aligned with any particular belief or not. I'll change my view when I see something different. Simple.

However I rarely meet people like this. For example I'll go to San Francisco but I won't shatter their leftist utopianism with a discussion about natural selection and how unfair the world is. I also won't go to a Rush Limbaugh barbecue and tell them that the left has some points of logic they should address.

So I remain my own island which is fine by me. So to me, change the clothes/dialect and most humans are still hillbilies. Fair enough.

By the way you should read the blogs you don't like as they may feed your fire. Or maybe you're over it.

For those with the Hitler question, he was raised as a Catholic in Austria but mostly as just a denomination. When giving speeches to the reich he would use "God" in generic terms but he replaced God with himself/Germany and religion with their version of science. As I understand it.

RITE2SPIN - I forgot to mention that another telltale sign of a hillbilly

is atrocious grammar.

I'm still waiting for your proof that Obama went to flag burning rallies, when can we expect that? I may have misunderstood what you were trying to say in your previous comment concerning Hitler but it isn't like you are articulate and write clearly. Finally; you're going to want to lay off of accusing people of taking drugs, it's not something I'm gong to tolerate. Namecalling on the other hand is a door, that once opened is hard to close again, so listen up chucklehead; you are out of your league, go back to the other feeble minded fundies and make up stories about evil scientists or whatever it is that you people do.

you still don't get it, do you clown. What I was saying is simple. u said hitler was a christian, there is nothing proving that hitler was a christian when he died but history does suggest he was at one point in his life or at least he went to a christian church perhaps. Just like your self. Do you get what I am trying to say here stupid or do I need to write a book. Are there any hill billy's in canada. the difference between atheist and agnostic by the way is similar to the difference between blood red and fire engine red which one are you, even a hillbilly can figure that out, well maybe not one from canada. Every other blog you talk about how you don't put religions down, while at the same time being a professional at doing so. You do it to piss folks of or your retarded, which is it. Me, I really don't give a hairy rats ass, I just get a kick out of mixing it up with you. In time i,ll get sick of doing so and just stop reading your so called scientific facts and theories just like the rest of blogit has so many time's in the past. Until then I will have my fun occasionally thumping you in your over sized head that accommodates what is left of your brain, the part that marijuana has not put to sleep. You might want to stop sprinkling battery acid on your crooked smokes my man. Or you could just do your self a favor now and block me. To bad you can't just block your hole blog. Get it hole blog, you thought I was being a hill billy again didn't youens.
