Thanks Mermaid, Troosha, Rubypoem, and Sinome.  I'm glad the poem reminded you of cozy times by the hearth of home.

Re: koleshuns
I appreciate your praise of my poem.  Here in central Florida, I've heard of that happening.  In fact, about two months ago, some men came to my door around midnight.  Looking out the peephole and not recognizing them, I called my burly husband from his slumber.  The front man stuttered out that he was looking for some guy who we've never heard of, swearing he saw the guy here a few weeks before.  My husband told him that we've lived here for years and he did not see said man here.  They left and we thought the episode strange.  About a week later we heard that a woman in our town was raped and beaten in her home by two men.  She said that the men showed up at her door, asking someone that she didn't know.  When they saw that she was there alone, they forced entry.

RE:My Sanctuary
Great to have a sanctuary, because some people do not own one.

Others does not share the safety of a sanctuary as we enjoy.

Someone I know has recently had their home intruded in and beat

almost to death.  They are in St Louis on a ventilator fighting

for life.  We are so blessed and it is right to be thankful for ours

There’s nothing like being in our cozy home watching the rain or harsh weather.  That’s when I like to have a fire going….

So true :-)  There is nothing better than a good roof when there is a storm outside... Our home is our sanctuary indeed.  Beautifully expressed
