calia14 - Thank you and that's the way it should be. This type of format would be a pointless exercise if we all simply read and posted that with which we totally agree.

Gomedome, you're hilarious
Being confined to one blog on this most interesting website, I usually dabble most in poetry.  That being said, I read a poem that sounded very bitter and direct just a few moments ago.  Scratching my head, I thought, "Who could this possibly be directed at?  It sounds very personal."  Aha!  I rushed to read the newest "shoot a non-believer for Jesus" blog.  As usual, being Christian-ish myself, I agree and disagree about 50% down the blog, but I wanted to congratulate you for being such a fire-starter.  Your opinions are well-stated and not overly pushy, I enjoy reading them even when I don't agree.

Soul_Builder101 - that doesn't make much sense
"Are you helping creation or destroying it?" - so an atheist who doesn't drive, recycles their garbage and donates money to Greenpeace can avoid hell? "Fair" cannot reasonably be used to describe a penalty of eternal suffering for anything we could possibly do in this lifetime.

Hell is a current condition..and a future place of penalty. Are you helping creation or destroying it? It is only fair that transgressors be punished!

SpitFire70 - thanx for stopping in
I was never taught about the Jewish zombie either, outside of the resurrection story. Raised as a catholic by religious loonies so far off of the froot loop scale that they make the bible thumping knuckleheads around here seem sensible by comparison, there was very little emphasis placed on the second coming. The rapture and most other popular segments of Christian eschatology that we are treated to on an ongoing basis are of protestant origins. That said, the resurrection story tells us that for some reason Jesus needed his body to rise into heaven, (as it was missing from the tomb afterwards). A re-animated dead body is a zombie is it not?

Gome,
You know I'm still a fan of yours and I agree with a lot of what you say. (Especially the hypocrisies of bible thumpers.) One thing I must add, though. I was brought up Jewish (reform) and not very religious. That is why I still consider myself Jewish but I am also a Trad Witch. K, so with that said, I don't remember being taught about some zombie and we also don't believe "Hell" exists. If there is a Hell, we're living in it right now.
