Re: So true....
Thanks metalrat! Spirituality is a soul's connection to God. This is beyond words and Religion...though the guidance of God will solve problems for the soul in material living. Your comment was top of the line! The dark side as a separate force within, must be factored in. If no, the dark side goes un-noticed and victorious!

Re: We do live in a material world
Thank you malcolm. I cannot say which force is responding from the womb. Which force is doing all that kicking? So, I feel that non-dark side things will build the soul. I would also emphasize healthy foods. Studies have shown the excess of pollutants in the umbilical cord. As the parents so the child...is often true. EVERYTHING that the foetus is exposed to...not only impacting sounds.....affects the child.  Yet, it is what happens after birth that decides whether soul or dark side peeps out of the eyes!

Re: If you will pardon my Hegelian perspective...
Thanks cpklapper! I abandoned these modes of intellectual identification long ago. I dare say, though, that you know the ideas you are flowing from.  That is laudable!

So true....
....religious leaders teach creeds and codes of conduct, which are mere externalities.
I've even heard Christianity called a "system of obedience" rather than true spirituality.
Like you alluded to, children lack the inner-conflict that torments people as they grow older.
And, ironically enough, the more "religious" people get, the more tormented they become.
I believe people should endeavor to become integrated beings, harmonizing all aspects of their being.
Stimulating thoughts, Soul.

In a similar way to a child love remains innocent. It stays in this non-materialistic form while people strive for materialism in goods, services, and identity. This happens on Black Friday *

We do live in a material world
and sometimes it's very difficult to imagine a world which isn't, even though none of us are exposed to it in the womb or are we? Does superior sound recording or parents who read out loud or environmentally simple and happy situations affect the baby's growth - or are these part of the same hot wire? Not sure.

I could see all your points. We have failed our children when we lead into the desire of materialism. I have tried to avoid this as much as possible with my own, but the influences you cite overwhelm the child. Mine are grounded but I still think they are in the mix as I have been all my life as well. I really liked the things you had to say here! I wish we could live in a materialistic free existence but with Christmas season upon up the diluting of the soul will continue. sam

If you will pardon my Hegelian perspective...
My thought on this is that the human life, including both the Soul and the Material, being viewed contradictorily, i.e. as one being the negation of the other, can reach a transcendence through a sublation (Aufhebung) of the two in the Persona, whereby the Material -- in others and in us -- is the means by which the Soul's objective in Love is met.

Cheers,
Carl Peter

PS: I am politically neither a Left or Right Hegelian, but more a Bottom-Up Hegelian.

That's quite an image, little innocent children being hot-wired into not-so-innocent education in every facet of life.  It doesn't take long does it.

Re: Bhaskar.ing
Thanks Bhaskar! The dark takes children even in the womb. These do not emerge as atma but as rakshasa. Rakshasa is dark side and they know nothing but EGO!

Re: Interesting...
Thanks Phoenix! Because spiritual leaders have no personal experience of spirituality, they jump on their favorite religious bandwagons......scripture. As if God died  or became unavailable after the scripture was written!

Children, as they come so fresh from the house of God, are inocent, shining with light, and the darkest of dark cannot touch them until they start identifying themselves with the I at the age of three or four or thereof. ood write, Soul.

as a child's ego develops, the more they forget they are soul
as parents we need to teach them to keep contact with that spiritual essence. good post

Interesting...
These are the types of things that I think about maybe a little too much. It's nice to hear your perspective. And I agree with you on the regurgitation issue. I feel as if a lot of spiritual leaders have nothing new to offer and certainly nothing original. Well written.

Very interesting concept. I don't believe I've ever looked at the soul like that. I know it is born in darkness but I took that as ignorance. As children we are to grow up in the knowledge of the Lord and away from the wallowing in the flesh (from the fall of Adam). I may have to restudy a bit. Thank you for getting the wheels turning this morning!
