Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Angels and Demons
case in point.

Why don't you listen? Why do you resist Jesus Christ?

One day you will regret it. But as of right now, it is not too late.

Put aside your personal feelings concerning experiences you have had at the hand of christians in the past. Sometimes they ill represent Jesus Christ in their behavior and attitude. I do not exclude myself in that indictment.

And focus yourself on Jesus Christ. Read the Gospels over and over.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Angels and Demons
I could just as easily contest that you are spiritually dead because you're not a Mormon.  I know several hundred people who would claim that.  I don't accept their opinions without consideration of how they fit in the world either.  Your version of the world and its interaction with your Christianity doesn't seem to me to be self-consistent, much less consistent with a broader vision of reality.  But keep shouting at me.  Maybe something will penetrate my closed, dead mind.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Angels and Demons
Of course there is no adequate response. You are an atheist, and anything christian is unacceptable and laughable.

I have done this before with other atheists and it just goes round and round. There is no point in attempting to expain where I get these 'absurd" beliefs from to you because:

the man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Cor 2:14.

You mousehop, are a dead man, spiritually dead, because you do not believe in Jesus Christ. This is not my opinion, it is what the Gospels teach. This is not between me and you. Go read the Gospels again and again and let the Lord speak to you. Communicating these spiritual truths to you is like a person trying to talk to a corpse in a morgue. You will remain dead and separated from God until you repent and choose to believe.

Re: Re: Re: Angels and Demons

Yes, I read your posts for laughs.  And I am making serious inquiries.  That my comments irk you suggests that you have no adequate response to them.  Why should I sit by and let opinions I find ill-considered and possibly dangerous go unanswered?  It is a natural extension of your beliefs to try to influence public policy to advocate your positions, and that would be dangerous and counter productive.  So as long as you are committed to spreading your dogma, I am committed to questioning it.

I find it curious that you don't see a contradiction between your claim that devils are responsible for all the bad things that happen to people and that bad things happen to everyone equally, regardless of righteousness.  Are devils so moral as to act impartially?  And how is that different from a materialistic world based purely on chance and the fundamental nature of matter and energy?  It seems to me that the world is better explained without God or demons.  And yet you claim unequivocally that demons run everything.  On what basis?

Re: Angels and Demons
Thank you. Your comment has enlightened me on just how ridicules these things are and how misguided I am, and also the "contradictions", which do not exist. Thanks again.

Angels and Demons
Hm.  So you have a squad of angels protecting you from pain and suffering?  And other likewise baptised Christians also have squads of angels?  And all the suffering in the world is caused by demons?  And yet both the righteous and the wicked suffer.  Doesn't that imply a certain contradiction?

Obviously, the mere fact of being righteous makes no difference in how you are affected by such forces as natural disasters, both according to human history and the Bible.  So what is it, exactly, that these demons and angels do?  Enforce the normal laws of physics?  Um, we don't need them for that.  As Stephen Hawking once said, "There may be a God, but he hasn't had anything to do for 15 billion years."
