I used to believe so but I think the idea is you have to forgive in order to let it go and get on with your life without harbouring harmful feelings; you need to do it for yourself not necessarily for the other person; it is not for us to deal with their karma; we can't forget some things but we should forgive those that don't know any better. I personally am still working on this forgiveness thing so don't have all the answers yet but am trying! Blessings, Maria

But wouldn't this forgiveness mean encouraging the person who hurt to
proceed to hurt others or to hurt me more? How does this translate vis-a-vis a child sexual abuser?
