Serenity mixed with angst
I felt the serenity of the window and the view, and in that, I also felt the angst of wondering...of not being sure. This was really a good write. Thanks for sharing it.

What perfect imagery....the scene so perfectly set.  I think personal thoughts are very important and should stay that way.....it's more when I catch myself being looked at that I wonder what is in the mind of another.

Very well expressed. Sometimes private thought should be just that - private. I hope it doesn't happen every day though :)

So near and yet so far. You never can be so alone as when you are next to a person.

My wife
often wonders where I am, even though I'm lying right next to her

I can see you sitting there, looking out the window at him, wishing you could know.  Perhaps it's better that you don't.  I think that it is very hard for men and women to understand each other.  What if you knew what he was thinking and misunderstood the significance.  Men and women come from different base settings and arrive at different destinations, all while in the same surroundings.  Maybe it's good that we have thought privacy.

I wish I knew everything. I am a fool unable to answer the barrage of queries from my wife and my children. I dont know why people cheat, abuse and hurt others.
