point well taken. empathy cannot be used in situations where one party prefers violence, over resolution (Hitler vs Chamberlin in 1939 is such an example) or sees the other persons attempt to resolve as weakness.

Empathy is a prime spiritual quality. Compassion and understanding are often used to mean the same thing. In situations where people aggress against and take advantage of others, compromise is not desirable. It lets the aggressor get away scot free. Justice and fair judgement are more necessary here. The innocent should not be found half guilty! Excellent blog!
