Re: Merry Christmas
Okay, then, Happy Christmas. I hear that's more universal. I have little use for the Politically Correct as a concept. Either you care about how people react, or you don't. I don't believe in choosing words carefully just because someone tells me what I can't say.

Re: Mousehop
Thank you. And I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, though I know that is just and American holiday. Still a good tradition.

Re: You are very articulate and enjoyable to read.
Thanks. I enjoy your posts, too. And spreading cheer in every form is a great idea. Time for the bright green sweater.

Pat...then why do it? Call the Salvation Army and offer a helping hand...you will be amazed at the chage that will come over you!

Under the circumstances.......
the economic prospects, and all..........perhaps we can turn away from the materialistic side of the season to the loving caring side of the season......give a gift of kindness...I have already signed up for the Angel Tree program, will be working at their distribution center, they're going to need the help, the requests are gonna be higher this year.......
Perhaps this year we have an opportunity to look inward and grab a hold of a bit of that humanity that we have suppressed with our x-boxes, I-phones, ad keeping up with whom-evers phase......We might actually enjoy it!

I've been doing my best not to think of the holiday season.
It's always depressed the hell out of me. This year, the economy being what it is, there'll be more stress than ever. And buying gifts, doing the parties, all this seems hypocritical to me, since I just don't believe the fantasy.

I share many of your sentiments about Christmas. Here, in Japan, Christmas is a hundred percent affectation, which is irritating. No one in my family here is Christian, except me, although it is totally a personal thing as I also consider myself Buddhist. My teenage kids are no longer interested so much in Christmas anyway, so although we will do the christmas 'thing' it feels pretty pointlless. Maybe I will look at it as an economy booster too! Things are bad all over! Have a very Happy Christmas Nevertheless! I still want to spread 'genuine' christmas cheer as much as possible!!

BTW, if you haven't done so yet, I would recommend joining
Associated Content and taking all your posts from Blogit that are not date sensitive and publishing them there. Start back from the first ones and get rid of them on Blogit first, otherwise they won't publish them for pay. Articles/editorials or whatever have to be at least 400 words...they will publish everything and anything and you can at least make $4 to $12 per article.
Just trying to help as you are very talented. Consider this God helping you through me, haha, Merry Christmas.

You are very articulate and enjoyable to read.
I got an early start today as well by wearing a bright red shirt to work. My dress shirts just seemed too stuffy this morning.
