Intersting post, Naut
Maybe there's hope for my RRSP recovering a little over the next couple of years after all!  I can only wish...

Naut-  My husband is a Financial Advisor and voted Dem for the very reason you cited in your post.  The big O has a long row to hoe ahead re: our economy, but he is levelheaded and fair.  You'd be surprised how many people on Wall St. voted for him!  Mal

I do not want to pay more taxes! I just hope the new pres gets an opportunity to do his job. I don't have money in the market, I am not that big of a risk taker. It should be an interesting year ahead. Shelly

Interesting post, Naut.  I guess we should just try to be ready for anything.  Right?

There can't be social services without tax. Without social services, people end out having to find "ways" to cope and criminality increase. USA has more people behind bare than the rest of the world except China (with whom they also share the death penalty) and they are more afraid of each other (and kill each other more) than most people around the world. Taxes are necessary to have social cohesion and a bit of financial fairness and  USA is a long way away of any other countries' level of tax (except tax paradises such as some Carribean Islands).

Taxes? What taxes? Ah yes, as soon as I'm back I have to pay my property taxes, but the bill is already there so at least this year it can#t get worse. Thanks for your comment on the Turkish Bath and I am very glad I have saved you from a quite painful experience!! Give it a wide bath...sorry, I mean berth.
