Re: Re: Re:
I think you have it backwards; right-wing thinking is adopted by Christians.  Or possibly more accurately, Christian thinking is defined as conservative.  But I think the best way to rebel against Christianity, should one wish to do so, is to adopt science and ask lots of questions.  In a sense, that does make one a liberal, but not automatically left-wing in political terms.  Economics is, after all, a science, and a popular college major for pre-law or pre-MBA students.  A lot of those end up Republican, or as true fiscal conservatives, which Republicans claim but don't seem to practice.

Re: Re:

What I'm saying is the easiest way to rebel against Christianity is to turn into a liberal.

You see this is where religon and politics intertwine. I understand a Christian can be democrat and such and such but generally Christianity is adopted by right-wing thinking people.

All of the media you mentioned with the exception of talk radio and some internet have the same brains behind them.

In theory, Christianity in all it's denominations seems like a good idea:
brotherhood, redemption, charity, good will. In practice, it's us against them, prejudice, institutionalized racism, name-calling, gossip, self-righteous justification for unkind and unfair behaviors. Who needs that crap?

Re:
I can't by your theories in bulk.  My rebellion against my parents was over religion, not politics.  My father has always been a liberal Democrat, except for being pro-life sometimes and very conservative in his own life.  But I am a libertarian in most of my views, and oppose the paternalism of the Democratic Party as firmly as I oppose the religious paternalism of the Christian Right.

The concept of "cultural communism" suggests that all the competing media are unified in their actions and desires, and that doesn't fit with what I see.  Each network, each movie studio, each media format tries to captivate the population with its own version of entertainment and information.  Talk radio and Hollywood have nothing in common and don't cooperate.  Network and cable TV are in competition, and each channel in competition with all the others.  Newspapers and magazines compete with the Internet, and currently are losing.  Each of these has its own general point of view, and enough diversity of thought to keep the conversation going endlessly.  So I agree that "cultural communism" is a foil, but I don't think we have the same definition of foil in mind.

Re: Ravenmarie
That's quite a mix.  For me, the mix was all Mormon back at least four generations, but Liz, my wife, has Mormon, Jew, and Native American heritage.  Loving them all is the best idea.  Thanks.

Re:
Most of my friends through the years have been non-Mormons, though I've kept a few Mormon friends, like Janis and Phil (the artist and her husband I wrote about).  I'm always open to friendship.

Being of a Jehovah Witness, Pentecostal, Native American, Mormon, Baptist and Catholic heritage I will just love them all and continue with my theory that just like God made food clothes, skin color and language for everyone, he also appears in many forms.  Peace to All

On a second read your post also proves my theory of people turning to the left because they had the Christian right shoved down their throats. Humans naturally rebel.

I know many like this but I also know many who grow up with druggie/hippie parents or just vagabond/drifter/criminal types who sought God/Christ.

I think leftist behavior is for those who need to figure it out thru rebellion and delusion and Christ may be for those who've been thru a living hell and want to be "saved." They need the rigidity/rules etc for guidance.

Humans require division of some sorts. It is a way of maintaining identity/uniqueness. I like this and that is why Cultural communisim is a foil. It destroys individuality.

And the reason I said leftists were so fucki*g stupid is because they've fallen for it completely.

Religions will divide themselves amongst themselves. Just as races, class and all that.  as in lutheran, born again, mormon, catholic, shites, soonies blah blah etc

I won't try to begin to understand all the differences in religion and if you want, that's a good weapon for you/leftists when you get into wars with Chrisitans. You can point that out.
