Re: Ex Turpi
I'd guess most could name Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Leonardo, and Michaelangelo. But maybe not under pressure.

Re: 5 women artists? Let's see: Mary Cassat (impressionist painter)
Nice list. In the film, the question was asked of people visiting an art museum in New York. No one answered, but that may have been and editorial choice.

I love Mary Cassatt
I know that women seem to be the chief inspiration for all forms of art... To me that counts for a lot :)

You ask a very fair question. Yet perhaps few could name 5 male artists just like that. Then it depends on how you define artist here.

5 women artists? Let's see: Mary Cassat (impressionist painter)
Freda Kahlo (contemporary painter), Virginia Woolf writer, Toni Morrison writer, Ursula LeGuin science fiction writer, Leslie Marmon Silko Ojibway writer, Rachel Carson, Joyce Carol Oates, Edwidge Danticat, Annie Proulx, Zora Neal Hurston, etc... Not to mention dancers, choreographers, movie directors, Broadway artists... 25 years ago, the list was much shorter.
