The doors of the Treasury flung wide open to the pirates of investment and banking, then slammed shut on public rights, scrutiny, transparency - 700 billion $$ of our tax money is just the beginning - we now have our economy nationalized via private interests; Hank Paulson, former CEO has succeeded with their coup and the Democrats are just as guilty as the Republicans in allowing it to happen - of course, everything else, like the Internet, free speech will follow, unless the citizenry actively challenges the moves toward plutocracy...
By the way, your comment on my post about Walter Annenberg's date of death is off by a few years:

The McCain campaign said the "radical education foundation" to which they were referring is the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a charity endowed by publishing magnate Walter Annenberg that funded public-school programs in Chicago from 1995 to 2001.
Obama served on the foundation's volunteer board from its inception in 1995 through its dissolution in 2001.
