At that age we become like old jalopies, all spare parts needing replacement

Lol thanks Mike. I find we look better with the lights turned down and can be stunning without glasses on! I am glad to have lived when I did -getting old is not too bad.Keep the chin/s up!

Muley ~LOLOL
Let me guess.. when you were 6 years old you dreaded turning 10?  It's all good (she says as she wishes 50 wasn't so close..)

Muley, Funny post, but old age is not really all that bad.  You are looking at a caricature of old age.  The finer points are glossed over by an emphasis of the flaws.  Every age has its flaws and its finer points.

Ok now that you have happily depressed me I have to say your song was great.  Getting old is not so bad.  As Vogue said , what we may perceive as problems like not seeing as well might be a blessing in disguise ... You will be OK... 53 is not so bad... you can live another 53 if G-d wills it with medical advances and the like... Take a hold of yourself and look at the half full glass rather than the half empty.  Great post!:-)

“They” also say that the 50’s is the new 30’s so I guess we should be feeling spryer than we do.  Of course sticking to the original lyrics might not be as fun as your creative spin…. (cuz there’s some pretty dreary parts like blowing your mind out in a car)

Well, I'm half way there, between your current age and the 73 mark and all I can say is: it's fun to defeat old age, you need glasses to see your wrinkles, so you just don't put them on, eat mash, so you can forget about your teeth and if you forgot where you parked your walker, just stay in bed. Happy ageing to you my friend.

Having just turned 53 myself last month.......
I don't know whether to laugh or cry Seriously though, perhaps laughing at ourselves as we get older is the secret to staying young!  Many blessings and thanks for sharing
