Rumour has it that Obama made Biden stand in the corner for a couple of hours after he heard about those remarks...

AS I MENTIONED AN ANOTHER BLOG HERE -- NO MATTER WHO GETS IN
whether McCain or Obama, there will be a test.
you can read it -- check the comments.
One thing is, Biden realizes that this will happen. This is positive. He knows it will occur.
Sarah Palin -- what does she say? "I can see Russia from my front porch." Great international view.

Re: How sweet it is to use things when they're convenient......
the information Powell gave to the U.N. was faulty, inaccurate, false. How much he knew of this is not known -- only he knows.
I've said this before -- there is a probability that Gen. Powell, after having been involved in Iran Contra and the misinformation that led to the invasion of Iraq, got fed up with supporting such and being quiet for the most part.
Now I guess yuo donh't respedct him at all.
You respect Pres Bush, right?
Talk about idols --

I just responded to Biden's remark.
Mr. Obama is a hell of a lot more qualified than Herr Bush ever was -- has just as much foreign policy experience before he gets to office as -- let's see -- Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney (except Cheney has contacts with internatonal corporations).
You set up a straw man here -- it's a person's character that counts, and willingness to heed more experienced voices.
As I say, I defer to Colin Powell, who does have considerable foreign policy experience.

every new president is tested -- Bushie was -- and failed.
Bushie was the worst excuse for a president this country has EVER had. He had nothing to do with his rise to the Presidency -- his daddy's influence gave it all to him -- and Big Oil money -- he never had to work or give out effort at all to have what he was given. He was a do-nothing president until forced into action by 9/11. Then he took the easy way out -- doesn't take much brainpower to order the most modern military force in the world to blow apart and attack a near stone-age force like Afghanistan's -- but we didn't take control of Afghanistan -- just moved in to Kabul while our opposition disappeared into mountains and other retreats and we decided not to pursue so that they controlled about 70% of the country for the longest time.
Then he decided to invade Iraq based on lies and purposeful misinformation. Brought us a huge national debt, thousands of lost lives, tens of thousands of wounded, stretching our military almost to its limit, ruining our standing in the World.
But him you support.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, is daily proving himself a thoughtful, insightful individual who has made it primarily on his own, worked hard to get where he is now. He has a lot of experienced people on his side, ready to give him advice. Too bad the Democrats didn't have Obama in 2,000. We'd have been a lot better nation by now, a lot better off. I don't think anyone can doubt that.
Other than that, I defer to Colin Powell for further notes on why Mr. Obama is prepared to be President.
