I am a voracious poetry reader. I have books and the audio of poets that I listen to. It is very cool to hear a poet read their poem. I live in the 17th century poets. But I think this quote reinforces what you were saying:

Everywhere I go I find that a poet has been there before me.

I must say that me too writes poetry but is shy to read it and
give others to read it without even declaring that I wrote it.
