Re: They are not recreating the Big Bang
Your explanation is complex yet I understand it completely and agree wholeheartedly on this. I appreciate your interest in this subject.

Just had an interesting thought on the subject
The missing component they are looking for may well have been all over the space of the known universe at the time of the Big Bang and all the known stuff just started spreading through it at the time of the Big Bang.  I'm not a physicist or astronomer, so this idea may be totally ridiculous.

They are not recreating the Big Bang
However probable the Big Bang theory is, it is not a 100% sure fact and what happened at the time they postulate the Big Bang will remain a theory since we cannot prove it and we cannot recreate it.  Even if the Big Bang did happen when and how they think it did, it happened under different conditions that we cannot recreate accurately.  The whole mass of everything in the known universe had to be present in one place at the time of the Big Bang and we surely can never get it all back together again.  So this may simulate a suspected aspect of that postulated event and we may be able to get to understand some events in the "younger" universe by doing so.  The scientific community needs to prove their current model of the universe since there is a large "black hole" in their current model that can only be explained by something they have not been able to prove to actually exist till now.  They've spent 20+ years building this collider (and megabucks), so we'll have to accept that we will not stop them now.  I can't wait for the results, whichever way it goes.  Unless you live on top of it, I don't think you need to fear anything.

Re: it is discovering
We only have to look up at the sky at night to remind us how small we are,,,, and that costs us  $0.00.    AND we should be satisfied at being small and stop trying to play God.!!
