azur, There were problems, html problems with the blogs posts, so I had to redo them....sorry.

Yup, six degrees and less of separation. Decent people behave decently when meeting and hanging out, no matter what.

There are many ways to view Palin and McCain and Obama and Biden. I try to see the good in everyone, but I also track actions and not just words.

Overall, in the midst of whackiness and wild rumors. I like how Obama makes the nation feel, his followers feel, Kennedy like. Uniting us.

I fear that the other candidates are all about separating and punishing.

Just my take on the whole show.

Unfortunately some of those elements of fascination are like watching a car wreck.

I saw a headline yesterday that said Palin: people either get her or they don't. I find what is put up as a analysis as incredibly simplistic. I think a lot of people get her alright, and that's why they don't like her or what she stands for.

Yesterday my boy played in a friendly soccer game with a man visiting on a conservation project from Kenya. Turns out he lives in the same parts, and knows Barack Obama's grandmother. They talk about six degrees of separation but  this is only four. However, round these parts, no fuss is made. It just came up in the conversation. People work hard, pull together, but just let each other be. I like this.

Re: Not much retirement plan for 3rd world leaders...since the Marcos family.

I do love it, overall and whackiness especially.

I only do not love the direction away from old laws and rules that kept us more decent internationally and at home. Otherwise, we rock.

Not much retirement plan for 3rd world leaders...since the Marcos family.
But if it didn't work the world would be covered with democracies. Democracies are a pleasant aberration and the US is a particularly wacky and large one. Gotta love it, overall.

Re: I think some bemoan so much they don't see good
It's that latest American exercise of freedom of speech this past year.....bemoaning and I was getting a little tired of it, especially when I read news from Africa, Asia and other more tribal areas, where differences are all and no one co-operates for fear of not being on top....
