And, Corbin, exactly what is it? Russia took Georgia (for the most part).
For McCain and Rice (or anyone else, for that matter) to say that they can't do it or shouldn't do it or shouldn't have done it is beside the point. It's done. For them to even say something like these two ridiculous statements is a denial of the actions of the United States in invading two countries in the 21st century, taking them over, etc. Putin, Medvedev and every other world leader (except for Saakashvili and maybe the Ukrainian leader) are laughing behind their hands at the utter stupidity of such statements. They are a farcical testament to American ineffectualness in this matter.

Seriously, what distinguishes the invasion of Georgia from the invasion of Iraq? That Georgia was a democracy and Iraq had a dictator? That isn't a relevant feature according to any international law that I know of; what's relevant is the invasion of a sovereign nation that poses no significant threat to the invader.
