Elethia,

I feel your anger and frustration.  My aunt's husband has been Diabetic since early teenhood and refuses to care for himself properly...He drinks like a fish on dry land and will NOT take his insuline injections by himself...she has to treat him like a child and give them to him herself.

My best friend's husband is also Diabetic now and refuses to see a doctor regularly.  He eats tons of sugar and gets angry with her when she tries to express her anger and concern.

My Great-Grandpa was Diabetic for the better portion of his life, but he was very good at taking care of the Disease before it took care of him.  Diabetes runs rampant in my family and I make sure I get tested for it once a year.  Thus far, I'm free of it, but one never knows when it will strike.

Like you, I don't understand how people who have this horrid disease can refuse to care for themselves properly and/or to seek the help they need.  That some choose to give up on themselves while a life is still ahead for them saddens, angers and confuses me.

Talk to God.  He will lead you in the right direction.  I hope you feel better tomorrow.
