I want to be part of the civilian national security force that is funded! Does that mean I get a gun and some money every month? Yea, baby, I'm for that!
Oh, wait, this means that there will be a national militia who will be knocking at my door every night and investigating what is going on in my home? Oh, wait just a minute, is Obama a mean ol' Republican? Oh, he is a democrat? But wait...

That just goes to show how well I paid attention in school...
So, if I have this right (and there's a good chance I don't, so bear with me!), then what Obama is suggesting would be something similar to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police...? Kind of like a police force that has unlimited jurisdiction within the country, rather than one particular state or city?

Tmilitary is for defense against enimies from outside the country. The are forbidden to do law enforcement duties inside the country. The National Guard is a militia force under the control of the states Governors unless called to active duty by the Federal Government for service outside the country.
WE have the F.B.I. to battle crimes across state lines and Federal Offenses....But there is no national "police force".

He wants to start another military to police national security?
Maybe this is just me being a bit silly...but I thought the whole point of the first military was to protect the nation and provide security for the citizens? Isn't that what they do?
Either I'm missing something, or Obama has really and truly lost his mind...
