Sounds like a great place! I know another place by that name, Chester, NS, which also has artists and many stately 'old money' houses. It's a fairly sleepy place, not too far from Halifax, NS. It has no river to speak of, (there may be a creek), but it has the sea. As someone who's addicted to sailing, but suspicious of 'ships' you can carry on your back, that's fine by me...

Kakaying after 70
Taps - it is NEVER too late to kayak!!  My Mom - now 75 - started kayaking a few years ago.  You don't have to go on whitewater to have fun.  Some of the best excursions are on flat water trails that take you through marshes alive with creatures.  You should try it - and I promise you'll be HOOKED!  Mal

I've been canoeing, rafting, jet-boating, water-skiing, off-shore fishing, on a cruise, row-boating, and tubing, but I've never been in a kayak.  Is 71 too late to try it?

Now I really want to visit Selden Island. The very thought that something could pop out is essence to be treated to! I love the idea of a shop making a garment in view of everyone. I also liked the fact of the many artists shops/studios around as well. It would be like going to a show everyone weekend but have the choice any time. I love the Northeast! Have fun with that laundry! Will it end? 10 loads is crazy! That's vacation for you though!  sam  Your son's video is still running around in my head. I am proud of him for you! Please extend my applause to him.
