I know just what you mean. With two teenage boys the time of actual conversation (apart from things they need from me) is rare nowadays. I know that when they look at me but doesn't really see me, then I have lost them. So I have also found that driving long-distance with one of them at a time is a great way for communication, they simply give up - haha.
