Thats the good stuff
These things are why I homeschool, Teachers are most admirable, but they can't instill the basic values in life to the extent needed. Kids are mean, and can cut through and hurt within a matter of moments. Parents need to instill these values in their children, and sadly most do not.

Manners

When my youngest was about 10 he had dinner at a friend's house. The mother called me afterwards and said "You know your son was here for dinner, right?"  Oh no, I thought to myself, what did he do? "Well, first he complimented the food and afterwards he took out his plate, rinsed it off and put it in the dishwasher, then he asked if there was anything he could help me with. So my question is HOW DID YOU DO IT?"

He was not always that helpful at home, but I was so pleased to see that all my hard work was actually paying off

Isn't is sad how basic manners seem to have slipped by the way-side....
