I'd like to welcome you too! When you travel a bit (litteraly speaking as well as metaphorically) you realise how true it is that life's full of irony! You certainly have a nice way with words. Keep the "good wor
kd"! LOL

I love this one! The ending really was astounding, but I fancied these lines:
You wanted kids and a lovely wife
I wanted freedom and a crazy life
I love my kids to bits, but this was so enticing! sam

So often true of our lives. We think it is this and then it is that but in the end we get what we needed not always what what we wanted. It is then a challenge to mold and be molded until there is a perfect fit. This is nice.

that is a beautiful poem, I could feel some of my own past experiences when I read it....(not about my ex-husband, but about true, REAL love before him)

Beautiful poem ... Life can be very ironic, can't it? Unfortunately the things we regret are usually the ones we did not do, not the ones we did. I want to join the others in welcoming you to our little crazy corner of the Web...

I joined in February...
...and it has taken over my life until recently.
I still have difficulty pushing away from the computer, but, I have to mind my 'real' existence before things get out of hand.

Life is a study in ironies, large and small...
...and your poem describes a common, yet, poignant irony.
